SARANAC LAKE — The Saranac Lake Winter Carnival Fund at Adirondack Foundation has awarded grants to several community organizations to promote participation in this year’s Winter Carnival.
The fund, established at Adirondack Foundation by the Madden family, supports organizations with formal participation in Winter Carnival events and activities. Grants ranging in size from $250 to $500 are used for floats, costumes and other expenses. The following grants were awarded this year:
- BluSeed Studios, to support the combined Saranac Lake Winter Carnival floats of ADK ArtRise and The Dance Sanctuary
- Society for the Promotion of Saranac Lake Winter Carnival, to support ice scrapers
- St. Joseph’s Addiction Treatment and Recovery Centers, to support staff participation in the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival float
“The Saranac Lake Winter Carnival is one of the great Adirondack traditions, and money should never be a barrier for participation,” said Heidi Madden. “We’re proud to help support these local civic organizations who bring so much spirit to carnival and ensure that it’s as inclusive an event as possible.”
