A Quick Guide on Giving To Adirondack Foundation
Donations of Cash
Make an online donation to our Generous Acts Fund or any fund of your choice, or send a check (more below). In tax year 2021, several charitable giving provisions from the 2020 CARES Acts have been extended. This includes universal above-the-line deductions up to $300 for individuals, $600 for married couples filing separately, and cash gifts for those who itemize deductible up to 100% of adjusted gross income.
Checks can be made payable to Adirondack Foundation. If you know which fund you would like the gift to be directed to, please make note of it in the memo section on the check, or include a note with your check, and send to: Adirondack Foundation, PO Box 288, Lake Placid, NY 12946.
Gifts of Stock
Market gains may provide an opportunity to gift appreciated stock. Donate shares and potentially get a tax deduction for the full market value of the stock on the date of the gift. If you wish to make a gift of appreciated stock, please contact Foundation CFO Linda Battin, 518.523.9904 or [email protected]
If you are, or have reached, 70 ½ before January 1, 2020, direct your IRA’s required minimum distribution (RMD) to Adirondack Foundation, tax-free. Please note: To maximize the tax benefit from this type of transfer, it is best if the gift is not directed to a donor advised fund.
