Essex Community Fund establishes Nick and Carol Muller Memorial Grant
Thursday, July 7, 2022
To honor Dr. H. Nicholas Muller’s 20-year legacy of service in the town of Essex and in loving memory of he and his wife Carol Muller, the Essex Community Fund has established a named grant that will support community needs on an annual basis. The fund’s advisory council is joining with friends and family to raise $50,000 for the Nick and Carol Muller Memorial Grant.
Dr. Muller played a lead role in establishing the Essex Community Fund at Adirondack Foundation in 2003 to ensure the availability of permanent charitable resources to benefit the residents of Essex. The fund offers high impact grants to local organizations, schools, church programs and local government initiatives. He served on the advisory council alongside a caring group of local volunteers. Carol Muller supported him every step of the way.
Dr. Muller led efforts to grow the fund every year by soliciting contributions. To date, it has awarded 165 grants that add up to more than $274,000 in support of community beautification, historic preservation, culture and the arts, education, recreation, and programs for youth, seniors, and other social services.
From the moment Nick and Carol moved to Essex in 2002, they became involved in the community. Through this named grant opportunity, we are honored to carry forward their community spirit by awarding a grant each year to support work that exemplifies their charitable vision.
We invite community members to join us by making a contribution to the Nick and Carol Muller Memorial Grant through one of the following options:
- Make your donation online here. Please indicate that your gift is in memory of Nick Muller.
- Make a check payable to Adirondack Foundation and send to PO Box 288, Lake Placid, NY 12946. Indicate “ECF in memory of Nick Muller” in the memo line.
