Nonprofit workshop with Andy Robinson at Tupper Arts

Lake Placid, NY – Adirondack Foundation and one of its component funds the Community Fund for the Gore Mountain Region invite nonprofit professionals and board members to attend a one-day workshop, “Building Your Best Board,” to be held at the Tannery Pond Community Center in North Creek on May 11, from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Recruiting, retaining, and engaging board members are essential to a nonprofit’s success. These volunteer leaders bring a wide range of skills and connections.

"Board members are the rocket fuel for strong nonprofits,” said Cali Brooks, President and CEO, Adirondack Foundation. “They lend their time and talent to propel programs, strategies and so much more to help organizations thrive.”

Andy Robinson, who has trained and supported thousands of nonprofit staff and volunteer leaders in 47 states and across Canada, will lead the workshop and cover these topics:

  • How boards evolve as organizations grow and change
  • Finding and filling gaps on your board
  • Creating and using a board “job description”
  • Board orientation strategies
  • Training and motivating your board to raise money

Pre-registration is required and can be completed online here: http://bit.ly/ADKFoundRegister. The cost per person is $40 for organizations with an operating budget over $100,000 or $20 for organizations with budgets under $100,000. For more information, contact Lindsay Yost.
